Match 2 criterias with or without cells containing a phrase in different columns with a formula in an excel report
When I have a cell with a single word, it is quite easy to match it but if this word, that I want to match, is inside a sentence, the formula is different.
When I use the formula ?
When I need to match two conditions in order to calculate a value for instance.
How to use the formula ?
The formula in this topic is with "," so depending of the operating system of your PC, the formula should have ";" instead of ",".
How is the formula ?
=INDEX()
=MATCH()
=ISNUMBER()
=SEARCH()
For a single word:
=INDEX(D:D,MATCH(1,("orange"=C:C)*("plane"=A:A),0))
I am asking to show me the value in column D if it finds “orange” in column C and “plane” in column A.
Search the single word into a comment:
=INDEX(D:D,MATCH(1,ISNUMBER(SEARCH("ch",B:B))*("orange"=C:C),0))
I am asking to show me the value in column D if it finds the word “ch” in column B and “orange” in column C.
